MY STORY

   Sophisticakes By Mary is a  baked to order, by appointment, custom design bakery.  Each creation is designed specifically for you! I believe that your cake should taste as good as it looks.  My recipes are tried and true!  I discovered quite by accident my love for cake design. During a hiatus from my previous life as a cosmetologist of 18 years to stay at home with my kids, I decided that I wanted to take a stab at making their birthday cakes after seeing what was available at our local stores. They were ok, but not the special cakes I really wanted. 

   I do have a Wilton trained background. Beyond that I am self taught in the more elaborate techniques including sugar flowers, cake sculpting, and 3D figures.

   I specialize in wedding cakes, but I still love to do the birthdays and other special events.  Due to the time involved in my creations, I do request that you plan ahead when possible!
